Devil's Breath

An expat posted on Colombia Expats about what sounded like a very troublesome drug called Devil’s Breath.  Here’s his initial posting followed about other expat’s comments.

MawdsJeff: This is the documentary I saw about Burundanga, just one of its names! Geoff http://viztv.vizfact.com/worlds-scariest-drug-the-devils-breath/

ElinglesLoco: Would that happen to be Scopolomine? Believe it or not, it is (or used to be) a legal drug in England. You just touch it on a person's skin, and they will do anything you ask. It also wipes out their memory of the event too, so to make a complaint to the police is often difficult if you can't give them any information about what happened, or the people who did it. It is pretty common in Colombia as the tree actually grows there. I believe it’s called the borrachero tree (I assume because the effects make you drunk - borracho). One of the reasons they always advise you never to take a drink, food or even a cigarette that is offered to you by someone you don't know. Even just to touch your skin with it will have you totally under their control. But don't worry, if you always keep an eye open for your own security, which is essential, then the actions of someone trying to get too close to you should ring alarm bells.
