Last night we went to bed at 11:30, I quickly fell asleep
and only got up twice during the night finally waking up at 8am and getting up
at 8:30. At one point early in the
morning there was some type of a bird hooting outside our window for probably
more than an hour.
It’s a mostly sunny day but still cool so maybe Teresa made
the right call not to go to Santafe.
It’s 9:30 in the morning and we still have our electricity. I think Teresa got her dates mixed up.
Laura and I left the apt at 1pm to have pizza at the new Papa Johns in Envigado at Carrera 43A
#23 Sur-85, local 101 - www.PapaJohns.com.co
at 310-6810.
They didn’t have individual menus, just a large signboard
behind the counter where you place your order.
We decided to order a medium (8 slices) pizza – ½ Pomodoro and ½ Johns
Favorite and a 1.5 liter bottle of regular Coke. The total came to 34,800 (about $12). We were told it would take 20 minutes but our
pizza came hot 10-15 minutes later. We
liked both types but agreed the Pomodoro was better. The Johns Favorite seemed too salty for me
maybe because of the Italian sausage and pepperoni. I was surprised they didn’t brink us any
plates especially since later I saw other customers with slice sized cardboard
plates. We ate 6 of the slices and got
the other 2 to go.
Back at the apt Laura determined that an older woman sitting
on the neighbor’s steps was hungry so we gave her our leftover pizza.
At 4pm I heard some thunder in the distance (East). Down here the weather seems to come from the
east unlike the US where it comes from the west. It didn’t develop into anything so I guess it
passed us by.
I finished the last of my current batch of iced tea. I’ve found that about ½ a teaspoon of sugar
in a glass of tea with ice is just about perfect for me.
Just before 10pm it started raining and was still coming
down when we went to bed at 11:30.

things…alone.
Hi Terry,
ReplyDeleteJust FYI, if you're wanting to use sugar in iced tea why not make up some simple syrup.
SIMPLE SYRUP RECIPE
Recipe is 1 : 1, so put one cup sugar & one cup water into a saucepan.
Heat to a simmer and stir 'til all the sugar is dissolved.
Cool slightly, then pour into a clean glass bottle with a lid and store in the 'fridge.
It will keep chilled for about one month.
This is great to add directly to chilled drinks since the sugar is already dissolved for you.
Cheers!
Paul M.
