Friday, May 3, 2024

Last night I went to bed at 10pm, fell asleep quickly, got up once during the night, final waking/getting up at 6am.

Teresa left at 6:45 for eps to get an appointment for a blood test and she’s expecting a long line. Then she’ll go to the gym followed by a visit with her mother.

For breakfast I had a bowl of cereal with banana slices and half a bagel with strawberry preserves.

I left the apt at 8:30 and completed my workout, sans treadmill, in Smartfit. I don’t think I mentioned this last Monday, but yes it was difficult returning to the gym after being off for 3 weeks. And it’s not going to be easy returning to the treadmill again.

I went to Los Porteños where I had a latte and, unlike Wednesday, there was almost no one else there. I left one of my salted-in-the-shell peanuts in the crook of a tree so we’ll see if it’s gone next time I’m there.

I left at 11am and returned to the apt. About 11:45 I texted Teresa and asked what we’re doing for lunch. Eventually, she informed me she was at Wilson’s and asked me to join her there. At 12:30 I took a Didi to Wilson’s bar where I found Wilson, Martha, and MT with Teresa. Teresa was still in her gym clothes. I showed them the photos, finally, from the September wedding in Greece. The three of us had the typical Colombian lunch for 45 mil. We discussed the holiday vacation to Punta Cana and it appears Wilson doesn’t have a non-expired passport. I don’t understand why but he said to wait until Monday.

It started raining lightly and about 2pm I excused myself and went across the street to the mall. I was going to have coffee in Santa Leña but the cold air coming down the hall from the metro entrance was just too much. I went downstairs to Urbania where I had a latte and a slice of carrot cake. The cake was a little on the dry side.

Someone posted this on Facebook:

They are reopening the restaurant, probably under new management, in Museo de Antioquia that closed during the pandemic.

About an hour later Teresa and MT showed up. MT had loaned Teresa a dress so she wouldn’t be in her gym clothes. They checked out a couple stores then we walked to MT’s building where Teresa retrieved her gym clothes and we took a Didi back to our apt.

I finished season 1 of The Good Fight.

Tomorrow I have a 9am haircut appointment and Teresa has a 7am doctor’s appointment so I think I’ll be having breakfast at Los Porteños.
