Last night I went to bed at 10pm, fell asleep quickly, got up once during the night, final waking/getting up at 6:15.
May the Forth be with you!
Teresa left at 6:30. It was raining so I checked my weather apps and Accuweather said it will be raining at least for the next hour. The Weather Channel predicted it would stop in the next fifteen minutes.
(Accuweather won this time.)
Well, it’s 7:15 and 66 degrees and it’s still raining so I
guess I’m going to need to put on pants and take the large umbrella.
I was leaving the apt at 7:20 when Teresa returned. She
offered to make me breakfast but I told her not worry as I’ll have breakfast in
Los Porteños.
On my way there, walking through the puddles in a light
mist, I was questioning my decision. I checked and the peanut is still in the
crook of the tree. I was the only customer in Los Porteños where I
ordered a latte and their Croissant Capri:
About 8:15 I paid the check and ordered a Didi to take me to
Daniel’s barbershop. I had an estimated 3 minutes so I made a quick trip to the
restroom. When I came out, I rechecked the app and it appeared the car was
turning the last corner before arriving. I decided to walk down the street to
meet it. I didn’t see any car moving or with their lights on. I walked back and
this time checked the license plates closely. I couldn’t believe I couldn’t see
it.
(My best guess is I lost the internet connection when I went
to the restroom).
Soon their 5-minute wait time passed
so I walked up to Pasteur pharmacy and soon caught a
taxi. I gave him Daniel’s address and saw him enter it into his Waze app but he
put in Carrera instead of Transversal. I went to my own Waze app and entered it
correctly and it suggested other cities like Bogota. I added Envigado and it
finally found it – 5 minutes away. I handed my cellphone to the driver and we
were off.
We arrived 5 minutes before 9am and I gave the driver 12mil
for an 8,500-peso ride.
Daniel took me right away and I paid the usual 45mil plus a
5mil tip.
I used Uber to call for a ride to Todo Drogas. I had
bought 2 months of medicine last time as I wasn’t sure when I would be
returning. I only bought 3 items for 67,900 pesos ($17.40) and I paid in cash.
I walked 3 blocks to a tienda naturista where I bought 2
bottles for 88,600 pesos ($23) and paid cash again.
I walked to Parva where I had a café con leche while completing my Aimchess puzzles for the day.
Teresa joined me and showed me her manicure that she was
proud that they have yet to break.
She left for Mercado Madrid while I finished listening to a Bears podcast. I walked down the street to the Bancolombia window and found it had moved.
While taking the above photo and man told me that they just
moved around the corner. I walked there and they are now on Calle 30 next to
the corner market. I printed sone past vacation notes that I want to
consolidate and returned to the apt in a mild mist.
Teresa was waiting for Kelley around 3pm when I went to Otra
Parte for a latte. It’s kind of nice on their patio except for the traffic
right in front on Ave Poblado. I went through some old notes I have on
vacations I’ve taken, trying to consolidate them. I left about 5pm and returned
to the apt.
Teresa had already left to meet Vickie for Gelato at Antonio’s.
I watched a couple more episodes of The Good Fight.
When Teresa returned she informed me that she’s going to a
special mass in San Peregrino with Esmeralda tomorrow.
