Wednesday, July 16th, 2014

Last night I went to bed at 11pm, had a little difficulty falling asleep (3 Cokes, remember!), got up 2 or 3 times during the night, woke up at 5:45 and got up at 6:15.

I couldn’t decide between having breakfast at El Comedor de Chava or Los Mejores; I ended up going to the latter.  Then I went to LM to study and at 9am was surprised to see the tables and chairs weren’t set up and ALL the restaurants were closed.  I guess I made a good, although admittedly lucky, decision.

I stopped at Viva and bought a new monthly supply of Tamsulosin at a 10% discount (supposed to be every Wednesday) for 36,720.  I sat in their food court studying Spanish and for a few minutes I was joined by the two old ladies I had seen at Los Mejores.  They quizzed me on how long I’ve been here, do I like it, and finally am I married.  That’s when I got the opportunity to tell them I have a girlfriend. The one lady, Maria, asked me to find a gringo for her.

Right after my Spanish lesson I was at the Viva bus stop waiting for Teresa who arrived at 12:20.  I told her from now on when I’m to meet her there to first look for me at the bus stop and then across the street at the bar (where I could wait in the shade with a cold drink).  She was hungry, and so was I, so we went inside Viva and had the chicken teriyaki at Sarku’s.  She told me she doesn’t care for it anymore and next time she wants the pasta at Alfredo’s.

We went back to my apartment.  We were supposed to leave later to go to Envigado to buy her medicine but she told me the pharmacy in Envigado delivers free of charge to Medellin so she called in the order.  It was supposed to be delivered between 4 and 5pm and the guy came about 4:35.

I surprised her with some Lindt milk chocolate with Hazelnut but she said it was too sweet.

Dario called me and we made a date to play chess in my apartment tomorrow at 2pm.

About 7pm we went back to Viva CC and I had the chicken combo #2 and she had the FriSchuleta (like a chicken plank) at Frisby for a total of 35,100.  Then I escorted her back to her bus stop and was back at my apartment by 9:15.

We made plans to meet on Saturday, with Laura, at 2pm at the Industriales metro station.  We’re then going to Pueblito Paisa again – something about a poetry exhibition?  Then Laura is going back to Envigado and Teresa is spending the remainder of the weekend with me.
