Typical night, up twice, finally waking at 6am and getting up at 6:30.

Teresa left for the gym at 8pm.

I watched the first 20 minutes of the Today show then left for the mall.

I brought with me a few plastic pill bottles that I added to recycling.

At Habia Una Vez I waited about 20 minutes for someone to notice me and give me a breakfast menu.  Ten minutes later I’d had enough and packed my things to leave.  A waitress then asked me if I wanted to order breakfast and I told her she was too slow.

I went to Todo Fresas where I was quickly served a café con leche and an almond croissant.

I took a walk upstairs to Café Arangos but with the light coming in the transparent roof I found it too warm so I went down to Cine Colombia where I had a cafe con leche from Juan Valdez in their lightly air conditioned room.  I read some from my American Chess Magazine then plugged my cellphone into an available outlet and played a couple games on Chess.com.

I stopped in Exito where I bought 3 bars of Dove soap, a package of 5 thins socks and a package of sandwich bread.

Back at the apt I dropped off a few things and at 1:30 walked to La Buena Mesa.  I stopped at the shawarma restaurant named Gyra’Z where I ordered off the menu, something I thought was like a gyro sandwich.  They didn’t have any cold drinks other than sodas so I ordered a Coke.  When they brought me my sandwich the bread was so large and crumbly it fell apart when you picked it up to eat it.  It tasted okay but was impossible to eat.  Inside the restaurant paying for it I saw a photo advertising the pita sandwich that I thought I had ordered.  I’ll have to return to try that one.

I stopped at the bakery for a café con leche and an English muffin to go.

I was back at the apt by 3pm to watch an episode of Mayday on Direct TV.

I watched Part 2, lessons 35-38 of Josh Rosen’s DVD The London System.

I left the apt at 5:40 and walked to downtown Envigado.  I stopped first at the bank and made a withdrawal.  I made a wrong needless turn and had to walk around a block to get to Mercado de Tranvia.  Chuck was waiting at the entrance soon joined by Darnelly and her son.  I was surprised she was walking as well as she was but I understand she is uncomfortable and has to be careful not to make any unnusual twists or turns.

We were joined by Charles, Jerry, Glenn (Jooks), John and of course we met some new gringos and their wives.  I had a pork sandwich and a free Coke.  Motorrad Angels made a short presentation and played a video.

I would like everyone to watch the following and decide if this appears to be a good group to contribute to.
You can also check out their website at MotorradAngels.org.

I left after about 3 hours and caught a taxi next to the park back to the apt.

11,333 steps today.

Joke of the day
A principal of a small middle-school had a problem with a few of the older girls starting to use lipstick.
Though he was a rather stern disciplinarian and a bit of an old fuddy-duddy, he was not primarily concerned with issues of modesty and innocence. Rather, for some reason, when applying it in the bathroom they would press their lips to the mirror and leave lip prints.
Before it got out of hand he thought of a way to stop it. He gathered all the girls together that wore lipstick and told them he wanted to meet with them in the ladies room at 2pm.
When they gathered at 2pm, they found the principal and the school janitor waiting for them.
The principal explained that it was becoming a problem for the janitor to clean the mirror every night.
He said he felt that the ladies did not fully understand just how much of a problem it was, and therefore he wanted them to witness just how hard it was to clean.
The janitor then demonstrated. He took a long brush on a handle out of a box. He then dipped the brush in the nearest toilet, moved to the mirror and proceeded to remove the lipstick.
That was the last day the girls pressed their lips on the mirror.
