We met Jesus downtown at 8:30am.  (BTW, one of the most interesting things I’ve seen someone selling at a stoplight was today when I saw a man selling cardboard boxes (broken down of course)).  At least we were there at 8:30 but he didn’t show until about 9:15.  He took us to see some beds.  I’m not talking about a showroom, I’m talking about a factory where they are made by hand and later stained to your liking.  We gave him 350mil as the down payment on a bed.

We wanted to try to have our Shedrain umbrella repaired.  About 10am Jesus took us to an old man sitting on a stoop outside a kiosk and handed him the umbrella.  He started to look it over and said to come back in 30 minutes.

We stopped a short distance away at Cafeteria-52 and I ordered a huge Bunuelo and Reina ordered an almojabana that we all shared, and milo to drink.  According to Wikipedia: “Almojábana is a type of bread made of corn flour, typical of some South American countries. This bread is a staple in Panama and Colombia where it is sold throughout Panamanian and Colombian bakeries.  And  Milo is a chocolate and malt powder which is mixed with hot or cold water and/or milk to produce a beverage popular in many parts of the world. Produced by Nestlé, Milo was originally developed by Thomas Mayne in Sydney, Australia in 1934.

About 40 minutes later we returned and the man gave us back the repaired umbrella.  Now it wasn’t working exactly as intended.  It did open automatically as it is supposed to but you have to close it manually although you are supposed to be able to close it automatically, but, hey, it works now.  Oh, and it cost 1mil or about 55 cents for the repair.

After that we went to a store called Flamingo Parque and bought a Panasonic telephone with 1 extension and a pair of socks that we charged for 202,690.

Just about noon we spent 22,593 cash for lunch at a small food court at Homecenter (like a Home Depot).

After that we bought a window squeegee, bathing cap, bath towel, kitchen glove and pot holders, 2 surge protectors, 4 air fresheners, door lubricant, and a small light bulb for the garage door opener at Homecenter for 188,000.

Then we went across the parking lot to Carrefour and I bought a package of 3 light bulbs.

When we got home I took a look at what we still owe people, the cash we have on hand and what’s still in my account and we decided to cancel this Friday’s party due to lack of funds.  (A million pesos just doesn’t last like it used too! LOL)

Jesus stopped by and dropped off the wood for the new mirror along with slats for the rebuilt platform bed.  He brought his girlfriend and their new 1 month old baby.  Surprise, the baby has blue eyes while both of them have brown eyes.  (It was a little unusual to see her breast feeding the baby right in front of us on the couch.)

Tomorrow Jesus will come back to fix the mirror and Wednesday the platform bed.  We gave him 100mil tonight.
