Recovery Day #15!
Last night I went to bed at 10:30, quickly fell
asleep, but woke/got up at 2:30am. I changed my AD, worked on the computer for
a while, finished an episode of Alone, and returned to bed at 3:15. I
fell asleep quickly, waking/getting up at 7:30.
Teresa left just before 9am.
My son texted me he would like to come for a visit in
August. I informed him I’m playing in a chess tournament from August 4-8 and
Teresa is scheduled for surgery on August 11th. (Don’t ask me about
that because she doesn’t want to share.)
Using the same technique as yesterday, I shampooed my
hair and washed the top half of my body before the shower went cold.
I left the apt at 9:30 and walked to the mall. I ran
into Herman on the way and shared with him that I had prostate surgery for
cancer. In the mall I stopped at a Davivienda ATM to make a withdrawal. It
informed me it couldn’t give me more than 800mil. That should be sufficient as
I had already calculated I needed at least 600mil. Of course, it gave me the
cash in all 20s. Outside at Baloto there was a 10-minute wait for me to
pay my bills, of course all in 20s.
Inside the mall I stopped in Claro and paid our
cellphone bills – no line. No line to enter Bancolombia and the muchacha that
hands out numbers spoke English. Inside I had a 35-minute wait for a cashier.
First I exchanged a torn 10mil bill for a good one then I picked up a little
cash my brother sent me via World Remit. At first the cashier wanted to give it
to me in all 20s. I asked if she had some 50s and she told me she didn’t. (And
they call themselves a bank.) She showed me 100s so I asked for those. (I can
exchange them for 50s later.)
Todo Fresa
had no tables available, so I had coffee at Santa Leña. I left about
45-minutes later, picked up milk, Coke and more ADs in Exito before
returning to the apt via taxi.
My surgical area is definitely irritated by my waistband,
belt and fanny pack.
I had an hour nap from 2-3pm. When I got up the
balcony railing was wet so its obvious men are washing the building.
I lost my game to Troyclough and my rating is now down
to 1560.
Teresa beat me in parcheesi 3 games to 0. ☹
My son Jimmy booked a flight to visit here from August
11th -18th. He needs to be back to start school on the 23rd.
He thinks he will probably stay at the Hotel Estilar at Calle 3 Sur
#43A-64 in Poblado.
I think we hit a high near 80 degrees today with no
rain.
