Recovery Day #9!
I already described in
the previous post what my night was like; I woke/got up at 5:15.
I changed my AD and Teresa
and I discussed other options rather than changing diapers 4-5 times a day.
Most of them involved some sort of hose connection. 😊
After breakfast I took
a nap from 8-9.
About 10am I went to change
my AD and Teresa told me I also needed a shower because I smell like urine. I
went in to take my first real shower since June 28th and I had just
put shampoo in my hair when the hot water went out. Talk about bad timing. I
splashed cold (and I mean mountain cold) water on my hair to rinse it, dried
myself then put on a new AD followed by my warm pajamas. Teresa informed me the
hot water is working in the kitchen. She then turned on the shower again and the
water was hot. I listened to her tell me that I don’t know how to work the shower
(after living here for over 2 years) when finally the hot water stopped and I had
her put her hand in to prove it to her. I got the new package of 2 D-batteries I’ve
been saving for exactly this occasion and struggled a bit to get one of the old
ones out before easily putting in the new ones. I guess I’ll be trying the
shower idea tomorrow.
When changing one of my
ADs I found I’ve regained at least minimal voluntary urinary control.
Juan Carlos sent me
information to register for the Flower Fare chess tournament in August. It
appears I can pay into a Bancolombia account and Whatsapp the league the
receipt with my name and entry category. He thinks they will limit the entrants,
so I need to move fast.
I’m missing another
beautiful sunny day with a high of 82-degrees.
I had a 75-minute nap
in the afternoon.
While Teresa went down
to the porteria to collect the finca rent I walked around the apt then had a
BM. At least I know that part of my system is working.
When she returned she
told me the couple at the finca are very interested in purchasing it. She said
something like 50 million pesos every 6 months until 300 million pesos are paid
off. Her plan is to buy an apt and rent it out for extra income.
Just before 6pm
Esmeralda took Teresa for pizza and she’s going to bring back a slice for me.
I was thinking of making
a quick trip to the mall tomorrow but according to my calendar it’s the day of
the month they do maintenance on the elevator and I certainly don’t want to
have to walk up 4 flights of stairs. I’ll be further along Friday anyway.
While Teresa was gone,
I watched Orbiter 9 (5.9) on Netflix.
She returned at 7:30
with my usual slice of vegetable pizza.
I was starting to have
some indigestion when I went to bed at 10:30.

Too handsome.
I now know what I want for dinner tonight...Vegetable pizza...thank you, I hate deciding what I want for dinner. Breakfast and lunch no problem. But dinner?? I read that humans can only make so many decisions a day. Guess I need to make important decisions (like my dinner menu) early in the day.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you are improving and ready to get out of the aprtment.
