Last night I took my usual pills and went to bed at 9pm. I fell asleep quickly and got up once at 1:30. I woke up again at 5am, made a trip to the bathroom, did my Kegel exercises, couldn’t fall back asleep, and got up at 6am.
Hmm. USAA’s website is unavailable this morning.
Teresa was still in bed at 6:40 when she informed me she was
still tired so she wasn’t going to go to gym class this morning. I guess that
means I’ll be going to breakfast on my own.
I left the apt at 8am and stopped in the porteria where I
asked a portero if I could recycle some large pieces of cardboard. The portero
said “yes” and pointed to the garbage room. With a struggle I managed to remove
the cardboard box for the refrigerator and large pieces of Styrofoam that it
was packed in. Now I can actually open the storage room door all the way and
see my suitcase right in front of the door.
In Los Portenos I had a whole wheat croissant with
scrambled eggs and a couple lattes for $7. I left at 9:40 and met Marcos
outside cafe Maca at 10am. We discussed his problem getting his
MagicJack app to ring and my problem getting Amazon.com (.co) to display in
Spanish (so Teresa can choose what she wants).
I heard somewhere that the discount grocery store chain Justo
y Bueno has closed.
I got my old suitcase out of the garage storage room and
brought it up to the apt. It was like Christmas, Teresa couldn’t wait to see
what was inside. A bag of socks including dark dress socks, white sweat socks, long
HDMI and ethernet cords from the finca, a new package of pepper spray, a
swimming suit, a talking electronic dictionary, and the orange thingy you use
to help carry heavy bulky items like a washing machine.
Teresa said sharing this suitcase should be sufficient for
our trip to Punta Cana. I guess we won’t have to buy a Samsonite after all. She
reminded me I gifted another suitcase to Laura for her first trip to the US.
USAA is working again and I see my pension deposits are
there. 😊
Another beautiful day with a high of 80 degrees.
I’m trying to chat with an Amazon rep to ask how I can see
their product descriptions in Spanish. I
tried chatting with an Amazon rep but after being handed off to 3 people it
finally gave me the option of talking to someone. The rep had me clear my cache
on Chrome and now I can see the product descriptions in Spanish.
I exchanged texts with Daniel and made an appointment for a
haircut at his new location (Transversal 34D sur #30A-27) for 9am tomorrow.
I finished watching the 8-part TV series The Defeated
(7.0) on Netflix. Nothing special.
Teresa informed me that her 86-year-old mother has high
blood pressure in her thyroid. It looks like she’s going to be staying with us
for a while so she can take care of her.
Funny pix of the day
