I feel I slept well despite getting up once during the night, waking at 5:30 and getting up at 6:30.

Teresa has an early morning class or classes at the gym.  I am going to Carbon de Lena for breakfast and I might even see her there after her gym class.

I left the apt at 7:45 and I saw a long line for the Adn newspaper, probably because they were also giving away small packages of what looked like cereal.  I had my usual calentado, scrambled eggs, and cafĂ© con leche at Carbon de Lena.  Across the street police were randomly stopping motorcyclists and checking their papers.
Unfortunately I couldn’t get an internet connection.

I left at 8:45, walked down to the metro station and said hello to Herman.  He informed me that a Hilton is no longer going to be built in the area just behind me, they have decided to build it in Las Palmas.  On the walkway leading to the station I found a man selling Venezuelian money.  I bought 5 of them, to use as bookmarks, for 2,000 pesos.

I took the metro to Aguacatala station, took a Circular 303 bus from there and got off a couple blocks early at Calle 34.  I walked about 6 blocks, almost getting lost until finally I arrived at David and Isabela’s AirBnB just a block south of Mall Laureles.  David shared with me his idea to bring gringos to Colombia for medical procedures and a little R & R. I told him I know a good dentist and opthamologist that I could recommend.

Also staying in the same apartment is Barbara from Germany, Norma from the Dominican Republic via NY and Murray from Toronto.  We all talked for a while about Medellin and how we ended up here and then went for lunch.  As we left the apt it started to rain so we chose the first restaurant we came to that unfortunately for me was a seafood restaurant.  I checked the menu right away and found chicken breast so I was good.  Murray is a Royal Canadian Mounted Policeman who has guarded presidents and prime ministers and traveled the world some.  He and Norma seemed to be a pair and Barbara appears to be one of those digital nomads.

Instead of taking the bus back it was raining so hard I grabbed the first taxi that came by.

Back at the apt Teresa informed me that MT needs a cleaning also so the dentist said to get there ASAP.  I changed my shirt and we soon walked down the hill and after a wait of a couple minutes we caught a taxi, picked up MT on the next corner and were on our way to El Tesoro.

During Teresa’s oral inspection Dr. Rendon again asked if she was using any whitening toothpase.  We had switched to Crest Extra Whitening in the last few months.  He explained that extra whitening toothpastes are bad for your teeth.  (I think it makes them more sensitive or something.)  MT got her teeth cleaned and we all went to J&C Delicias for dinner.

Back at the apt I watched some Thursday Night Football.

Today’s Step Count was 8,588.

Joke of the day
A group of 15-year old boys discussed where they should meet for dinner. They agreed to meet at the Dairy Queen next to the Ocean View restaurant because they only had $6.00 between them, they could ride their bikes there, and they might see that cute girl from their English class.

Ten years later, the group of 25-year-old guys discussed where they should meet for dinner. They agreed to meet at the Ocean View restaurant
because the beer was cheap, they had free snacks, the band was good, there was no cover charge and there were lots of cute girls.

Ten years later, at 35 years of age, the group once again discussed where
they should meet for dinner. They agreed to meet at the Ocean View restaurant because the booze was good, it was right near the gym and if they went late enough there wouldn't be too many whiny little kids.

Ten years later, at 45 years of age, the group once again discussed where
they should meet for dinner. They agreed to meet at the Ocean View restaurant because the martinis were big, and the waitresses had nice boobs and wore tight pants.

Ten years later, at 55 years of age, the group once again discussed where
they should meet for dinner. They agreed to meet at the Ocean View restaurant because the prices were reasonable, the wine list was good and fish is good for your cholesterol.

Ten years later, at 65 years of age, the group once again discussed where
they should meet for dinner. They agreed to meet at the Ocean View restaurant because the lighting was good and they have an early bird special.

Ten years later, at 75 years of age, the group once again discussed where
they should meet for dinner. They agreed to meet at the Ocean View restaurant because the food wasn’t too spicy, and the restaurant was handicap accessible.

Ten years later, at 85 years of age, the group once again discussed where
they should meet for dinner. They agreed to meet at the Ocean View restaurant because they had never been there before.
